Yordanka Fandakova: Bulgaria has the potencial of becoming European tourist capital in 2019

On July 21 the mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova opened International Folklore Festival. Events like this will be crowned Sofia's candidacy to the European Cultural Capital in 2019 with success, Fandakova said.

The intentions of Sofia becoming European Capital of Culture will gives rebound of the economy in Bulgaria, Fandakova said during a conference on "The 'European Capital of Culture" on July 23, Focus news agency reported.

Cultural heritage is a special emphasis in the investment program of the municipality and the Ministry of Culture with several museums that are being built now, said Fandakova.

In the traditional International Folk Festival this year are involved groups from Algeria, Indonesia, Italy, China, Mexico, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. Bulgarian folklore was represented by the chambers' Bogovitsa "," Goce Delchev "," Fire "," Sredets "," Kremikovtzi".
