The Virgin Mary statue in Haskovo, recognized as the world’s tallest Virgin Mary statue, was decorated with eight-m martentisas to mark March 1.
Climbers needed two hours to hang the Bulgarian traditional symbol, which represents health and the beginning of spring. The martentisa weights 90 kg.
The martenitsa will decorate the Haskovo monument until the beginning of spring.
