Bulgarian skiing resorts will attempt attracting tourists outside the active winter season, dnevnik.bg reported.
Such development will be needed to compensate for the smaller number of visits this winter season.
Pamporovo plans to invest in artificial snow coverage during the summer. Nearly 80 percent of the tracks will be covered with artificial snow according to investment plans.
Resorts plan to invest in year-round tourism opportunities and to pay special attention to Bulgarian tourists. Pamporovo will halt construction during the summer making it accessible for tourists.
Borovets plans no further investment because of the financial crisis. The resort will attempt organizing seminars and workshops during the summer.
