Eight routes dedicated to wine tourism will be created and added to Bulgaria’s tourism map, expert.bg reported.
State Agency for Tourism (SAT) is working on the project together with French experts. The routes will include exploration of vineyards and wine cellars, as well as of historic, archaeological and nature landmarks.
The poor state of infrastructure and the lack of qualified staff are two obstacles to the development of wine routes in the country. SAT is looking for funding that will improve conditions and will facilitate tourist access to the areas.
The wine routes include cellars in Starosel, Arbanasi, Melnik, Evksinograd and other places. All locations have been selected after evaluation of their accommodation capacity and availability of additional landmarks.
