The number of foreign travelers, who visited in Bulgaria in May 2010, increased 6.2 percent in comparison to figures for May 2009, National Statistical Institute (NSI) reported.
The biggest group of people, 21.5 percent of all, arrived in Bulgaria to have avacation.
NSI registered an 18.2 percent decrease in business trips. The number of people, who came to Bulgaria to visit someone, decreased 12.7 percent.
Residents of EU countries registered 1.2 percent more visits to Bulgaria.
The number of Russian visits increased 65.8 percent, followed by visits from Serbia and Macedonia with respectively 51.4 percent and 30.7 percent.
Simultaneously, fewer Bulgarians traveled abroad. Trips to foreign destinations decreased 34.1 percent. Bulgarians registered fewer trips to Japan, Greece and Slovakia. NSI registered an increase in travels to Norway and Denmark.
