Unusual ritual pits discovered near Bulgaria's Kazanluk
from 30.07.2009 17:36       Author - Tourist Media
Unusual ritual pits were discovered during excavations of Selishtna hill near the Kazanluk region village of Krun, radio Focus-Veliko Turnovo reported.

This is one of a kind monument, since it was used only in rituals during the past. Such puts were discovered in all parts of Europe, Asia Minor and the Middle East.

Archaeologists also discovered the graves of infants. They were buried following all traditional rituals typical for that part of Thrace.

Excavation works are ongoing for a fourth consecutive year. Archeologists are waiting for the involvement of British researchers who will help them in lab analysis.
