United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) expects moderate tourism recovery in 2010, France-Presse reported as quoted by Bulgarian News Agency.
According to UNWTO international travel will register increase from one to three percent in 2010, compared to the five percent decrease expected for 2009.
In the first eight months of 2009, the decrease in international travel reached seven percent.
The tourism industry has rarely had the difficulty of struggling through various challenges at the same time. The global economic crisis, credit crunch, rising unemployment and the swine flu epidemics all accumulated to decrease travels, UNWTO secretary general Taleb Rifai said.
Asia will recover faster from the financial crisis, but Europe and America will need more time.
The negative trend that emerged in second half of 2008 and continued growing in 2009 is starting to show signs of a slowdown.
