Twelve journalists from leading UK media will arrive in Bulgaria on January 16. They will participate in a five-day trip for promoting various tourism opportunities of Bulgaria in the UK market.
It is the third tour organized for journalists organized by Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and conducted under the Operational Program Regional Development.
During the tour journalists will visit Borovets, Bansko, Rila Monastery and Sandanski.
According to the ministry UK is a key market for Bulgaria’s tourism industry. Over 300 000 people from the UK visited Bulgaria as tourists in 2010.
The current campaign includes also workshops, conferences, workshops, television, outdoor and print advertising. It is intended to increase the number of British tourists who will visit Bulgaria to 500 000 by 2020.
