Turkey expects 30 million tourists in 2010
from 22.02.2010 17:43       Author - Tourist Media
Despite the financial crisis, Turkey remains optimistic about summer tourism season 2010, Dnevnik daily reported.

According to the Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gurnay, Turkey aims to welcome 30 million foreign tourists in 2010. In 2009, the country saw the visits of 26 million tourists.

Turkey’s optimism has remained in the country, failing to cross borders and affect other major tourism destinations. Hotel owners in Croatia expect difficulties during summer season 2010.

According to a Croatian hotel association, the number of visits will increase in 2010 but local entities are uncertain whether the figure will reach levels registered before the start of the financial crisis.

According to Croatian National Bank, the tourism sector registered revenue decrease of 16 percent over the final quarter of 2009.
