Tourists are polluting seriously the area near the Seven Rila Lakes, Focus news agency reported. The negative development is a result of the setting up of the lift from Pionerska hut to Rilski ezera hut (Rila lakes).
Tourists fail observing the rules concerning the protection of Rila national park. Most of them enter the lakes for a swim or cool beers in the water.
Large quantity of refuse is being dumped in the area of the lake and in the foot of the mountain.
Ecologists are appealing to tourists to keep the region clean, otherwise the lakes might turn into swampy regions.
