Tourism helps New York to stay unaffected from the world financial crisis, econ.bg reported. 

In 2010 the city was visited by over 48 million tourists and an income reached $ 31 billions. Local tourism industry expects the figures in 2011 to beat all expectations.

According to New York’s mayor Michael Bloomberg in the end of 2011, the American city will have over 90 000 hotel rooms, which presents 24 percent increase compared to 2006. The hotels in New York register 85 percent occupancy per year.
