Over 4000 Pleven residents and visitors decided to make use of the Night of Museums initiative on May 16.
People visited both the regional history museum and Pleven Epopee Panorama.
Six tarantulas welcomed visitors in the museum. The tarantulas are part of the collection of the Sofia spider museum. Alive manikins presented fashionable underwear from the history museum in the town of Svishtov.
A traditional exhibition presented donations made by Pleven residents, icons, personal belongings of Bulgarian revolutionary Vassil Levski, paintings by some of Bulgaria’s finest artists and works of the young talents from a local art school.
A music show took place in the museum, alongside the tasting of unique specimens from the Pleven Wine museum.
Pleven’s military museum also took part in the initiative. The celebration ended at Pleven Epopee Panorama where visitors explored a collection of weapons from the Russo-Turkish War of 1877. A screening of historic films was also scheduled.
