No perpetration was inspected on the Sofia Airport, showed the inspection of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. It was undertaken due to a complaint made by the Bulgarian Member of the European Parliament Antonia Parvanova.
The European Commission also inspected the security procedures on the airport on the 2nd and the 3rd of December in 2010. According to it, the check in of the passengers and luggage is being made on regulation.
The inspection made by the Bulgarian ministry shows that there are technical defects of the conveyor belt where the luggage rolls off. This may cause damage to the luggage. The inspectors has prescribed it to be renovated. They recommend some more additional video cameras to be installed on Terminal 1. By this way the luggage’s security will be fully guaranteed.
Cases of lost or damaged luggage on the Sofia Airport does not exceed the average international ones which are 3 to 6 pieces of luggage out of 1000.
