The European Tourism Forum (ETF) took place in Mellieha, Malta, from November 18 to 19. The theme of the forum in 2010 was "The Need to Strengthen Europe's Role As The Leading Tourism Destination".
Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism Traicho Traikov presented Bulgaria at the forum.
Representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and Malta’s Government discussed competitiveness between European tourism companies, cultural routes development and its influence on tourism income and marketing.
The first European Tourism Forum was launched in December 2002 in Brussels. The forum aims to provide an operational framework and correct measures to strengthen European tourism, to improve the interface between European tourism representatives and to act as a platform for the exchange of good practices.
