Hotel owners in Benidrom and Costa Blanca demand the regional governments to stop working with British tour operator Thomas Cook, travelweekly.co.uk reported.
In September, Thomas Cook announced that it will reduce five percent of payments to hotels in Spain, Greece, Turkey and Egypt for August and September.
The president of Benidorm and Costa Blanca Hotel Association Antonio Mayor said that all local and regional government authorities have to terminate arrangements with the British tour operator.
Hotel owners in Majorca, Ibiza, Menorca, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Costa del Sol support the taking of legal action against the tour operator. They called for European legal involvement in the situation.
A Thomas Cook spokesperson commented that the tour operator continues discussing the move with hotel owners, who remain positive about it.
