Spain registers increase in foreign tourists’ overnights
from 25.08.2010 14:46       Author - Tourist Media
Spain registered an increase of 11percent in foreign tourists’ overnights in July 2010 compared to figures for the same month of 2009, according to National Statistics Institute in Spain's accounts presented by breakingtravelnews.com.

UK and German tourists have started to travel again to Spain after a downturn.

Spain’s statistics institute data is the first sign of the end of the previously experienced staycation. In the United Kingdom this trend led to 15 percent decrease in sales of vacations abroad.

Tour operators have helped Spain's tourism sector by offering serious holiday discounts.

Thirty million tourists visited Spain over the first seven months of 2010. The figure represents a 0.4 percent decrease in comparison to statistics for the same period of 2009.
