A tourist information center in Bulgaria’s capital of Sofia will open doors officially on September 16.
The center is situated in the subway of Sofia University. The center has worked from the beginning of 2010, but the official opening has still to take place.
From January to June 2010 the center was visited by 1568 people. the number of foreign visitors reached 1307.
The biggest group of tourists coming outside Bulgaria was from Germany - 174 visitors over the first six months of 2010. Italians and French rank second and third with respectively 123 and 84 visitors.
Only one tourist from Georgia, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, Puerto Rico, Thailand, and Chile visited the Tourism information center in Sofia.
