Sofia mayor Iordanka Fandukova and ambassadors of European Union countries in Bulgaria visited archaeological discoveries made during the construction of Sofia’s subway.
An ancient Serdika street was discovered in the area near the Presidency. Serdika was Sofia’s old name.
According to a project, the findings will undergo restoration and will turn into tourism complex. The project needs 20 million leva to be completed.
Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Culture Todor Chobanov participated in the presentation tour as well.
Sofia Municipality, Ministry of Culture and Metropoliten company have provided funding for the excavations.
