Of all flights, 73 percent were international. The number of Bulgarian airlines charter flights increased 44 per cent in 2009 since touroperators decided to use their services.
The airlines that serviced most passengers to and from Sofia Airport in 2009 are Bulgaria Air, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, EasyJet and Austrian Airlines.
