Shabla municipality received a Regional Development and Public Works Ministry permission to carry out projects in its protected areas, investor.bg reported.
The plan envisions development of sustainable tourism in the region of the Shabla and the Dourankoulak lake.
Funding needed for the execution of the project totals 262 616 leva and will be received from the European regional development program.
Plans of the two protected areas will be made. Additional initiatives include the setting up of eco tourism infrastructure and partnerships with EU municipalities targeting the exchange of practices in the sector.
The Swedish Västra Götaland region will be Shabla’s partner in the execution of the project. Hornobrga lake, known for its numerous bird species, is situated there.
