Shabla municipality has tabled a project for regional cooperation for the modern management of protected areas and sustainable development of tourism, actualno.com reported quoting Dobroudzhanska Tribouna newspaper.
The protected areas included in the project are the Shabla and Dourankoulak lakes.
The project envisions the creation of management plans, eco tourism infrastructure and the organization of seminars.
To receive European funding, Shabla municipality needs the partnership of a representative of EU member countries,
According to plans, Shabla's partner will be Sweden's Västra Götaland. The protected area Hornborga lake is situated there.
If the project receives approval, it will be executed for 18 months and the financial aid provided will vary between 100 000 and 300 000 leva.
