Russian investors have bought Bulgarian properties worth 199 million euro from the begging of 2009 to the end of June 2010, Bulgarian National Banks data shows as presented by Troud daily.
For the first six months of 2010 foreigners invested 98.5 million euro in properties in Bulgaria. Russian estate transactions formed half of all transactions - 45 million euro.
The depreciation of the ruble compared to the euro makes investment more profitable in EU countries.
In 2009, a property worth 50 000 euro in Bulgaria was worth 2.25 to 2.3 million Russian rubles. In comparison, this sum decreased 15 to 17 percent in 2010, totaling 1.9 million rubles.
