Russia and Turkey has canceled the visa regime, the Russian Vedomosti daily reported. The government’s agreement between the two countries simplifies the tourists’ traveling. This was announced on the meeting between the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and the Turkish Prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Russian tourists are going to cross the Turkish border without visas since May 2011, only if they travel to the country for less then 30 days.
According to the current system, visa can be bought for 20 dollars from the airport.
Three million Russian tourists have visited Turkey in 2010. It is expected that this number will rise to four million people in 2011.
