Russian tourist industry goes through a standstill
from 08.04.2011 15:41       Author - Tourist Media
Tourist business branch in Russia is going through a standstill, tourism-review.com reported. The flow in outbound tourism is much higher than in inbound tourism.

The Russian Railway does not appear much friendly to travelers, too. Another reason for low inbound tourist flow is the expected increase of 12% of railway ticket prices in summer 2011.

According to experts from the Russian Tourist Association, tourist market in Russia will be in standstill in 2011. The stagnation in local tourist branch has continued for a second year.

At the same time the number of Russian tourists traveling abroad has a rise of 40%. This means that about 13 million Russians has chosen a foreign destination for their summer vacation in 2010.

The major reason for the decrease of the tourist flow in Russia is the lack of competency in the sphere of tourist services which has an impact on their prices and quality, experts say.

There was a tendency of more Russian tourists who prefer staying in camps with minimal utilities in 2010 with a perspective this trend to continue even in 2011, too.
