Battles took place on the Kaleto site. International participants recreated military life of the Roman Empire. Gladiator battles were recreated at Novae archeological site. The participants in the fest recreated ancient traditional dances, rites and religious ceremonies as well. Participants from India and Bangladesh dressed like Romans, too. The ancient Rome fortress Novae is located near the town of Svishtov. The fest continued three days. The fest visitors had the opportunity to attend a gladiator wedding. Battles were recreated with real weapons. Visitors could attend the performance of the Ruse opera. The Ancient Heritage Fest is an annual event.
