Romanian tourists rank first among the foreign tourists who visited the Bulgarian town of Veliko Turnovo in the first half of 2010, Iantra Dnes daily reported.
The total number of Romanian visitors reached 5933. French tourists rank second and Germans are the third biggest group.
For the first time, 82 tourists from Africa visited Veliko Turnovo. The group from Asia totals 3328 and the biggest group came from Japan.
Tsarevets fortress remains the most visited tourism site in Veliko Turnovo. A total of 98 000 tourists explored the fortress.
