Hotel overconstruction and such areas lacking proper infrastructure fail generating profit for investors and should be restructured, head of the institute for tourism analyses and evaluations Roumen Draganov told Bulgarian News Agency.
In 10 years, five percent of the currently existing hotels will be abandoned. The regions that these are constructed in will no longer come to any use in terms of tourism.
Hotel buildings could be used to serve other purposes. They could turn into hospitals or elderly people shelters, Draganov said.
