Nearly 80 000 French tourists visit Bulgaria per year, French ambassador in Bulgaria Philippe Autié said. On November 19 he visited the coastal city of Varna, econ.bg reported. But the number does not correspond with their attitude, because French tourists travel a lot, the ambassador said.
Autié called Varna the Bulgarian Riviera. According to him, the city owes a great potential for tourism and sea industry development.
On December 4 2010 the mayors of Varna and the French city of La Rochelle will sign in Paris a contract for organization of an international boat exhibition in Varna. Similar exhibition will take place in the French city in 2011.
