Bulgaria registered a 7.8 percent increase in the number of foreign tourist visits in January and February 2010, compared to figures for the same period of 2009.
Economy, Energy and Tourism Ministry announced data for the first two months of 2010.
Visits from Serbia increased 45.3 percent, followed by visits from Macedonia, Russia and Israel where the increase reached 41.5, 25.5 and 25 percent respectively.
Visits from Greece, Romania and the UK increased, as well.
Bulgaria’s international tourism revenue for January totaled 103.9 million euro, an increase of 8.2 percent in
comparison to January 2009 figures.
