A medieval church and a fortress were saved from treasure hunter assaults in the region of Rakitovo, radio Focus-Pazardzhik reported.
Treasure hunters failed inflicting serious damage since their activities were stopped at an early stage.
Representatives of the national archaeology institute are still to date the two landmarks. According to them, the two date back to the late antiquity or the early Middle Ages.
Gradot region, where the two landmarks were discovered, will be guarded from now on.
