Maritime Administration Executive Agency will begin detailed inspection of the overall condition of vessels in Bulgaria, news.bg reported.
The inspection will focus on the technical condition and safety of seasonal vessels carrying passengers. All vessels that are listed in the national marine register will be examined.
The regional inspectorates of Maritime Administration in Bulgaria’s coastal cities of Varna and Bourgas will inspect seasonal transportation vessels at the beginning of each summer season. The number of registered vessels changes annually.
A total of 94 vessels are registered in the Bourgas region for summer 2009. The number of vessels for Varna is 56. The average age of these varies from eight to 10 years.
