Nearly 500 people are competing for one workplace in coastal resort restaurants, Novinar newspaper reported.

Each day, people seeking jobs are arriving in the coastal resorts of the country. Nearly half of them remain jobless because of the high competition.

Most people are working for jobs as chefs and waiters.

The average monthly salary of a chef is 900 leva and waiters get 550 leva on the average.

The financial crisis has left many people without a job, representative of the Bulgarian Hotel and Restaurant Association (BHRA) Atanas Dimitrov said.
