A larger number of tourists are willing to explore and pray in front of the newly found relics of St. John the Baptist. The relics were found in the Bulgarian town of Sozopol and are currently displayed in St. George church, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

Sozopol archaeology museum director Dimitur Nedev said that believers are unaffected by disputes over the authenticity of the finding.

Many people come to see relics and the reliquary they were discovered in. The reliquary is displayed in the Sozopol archaeology museum.

The finding increased tourist interest in Sozopol, mayor of the coastal town Panaiot Reizi said. Hopes are that visitors will keep on coming even after the end of the active summer season.
