The location of the ninth Bulgarian synagogue was specified in the town of Kurdzhali, gradski.bg reported.
The only preserved column from the building has been discovered as well, head of art movement KRUG Radost Nikolaeva said.
Information came from the son of an old rabbi. He submitted documents, charts and pictures of the building.
Kurdzhali municipality plans to launch an initiative named Places of Kurdzhali’s Multicultural Memory. The project envisions exploration of little known historic sites connected to the history of the various ethnic groups that inhabited the region.
