Ivailovgrad-Kyprinos border checkpoint to start functioning in September

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borisov and his Greek counterpart George Papandreou will officially open the new border checkpoint Ivailovgrad - Kyprinos in September 2010.

In September, Bulgaria and Greece will celebrate 130 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries.

The Greek delegation was on official visit in Bulgaria on July 27. Bulgaria and Greece signed bilateral documents in the sphere of defense, economy, transportation, culture and agriculture.

Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism and Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Greece signed a protocol for cooperation in the sphere of tourism.

Papandreou met Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov. They discussed construction projects and projects involving modernization in the area of economy and transport. They also talked about the opening of new border checkpoints.

Papandreou and Purvanov talked about Bulgaria and Greece exchanging cultural exhibitions during the celebrations in September.
