Bulgarian president Georgi Purvanov and the president of Greece Karolos Papoulias opened officially Ivailovgrad-Kiprinos border checkpoint on September 9.

Through the official opening Bulgaria and Greece celebrate 130 years since the establishment of  diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Greece provided funding for setting up of the border checkpoint construction and for the needed infrastructure.

Ivailovgrad-Kiprinos border checkpoint connects Bulgaria with Greece and Еdirne in Turkey.
