The Israeli minister of tourism Stas Misezhnikov is going to be accompanied by a group of Israeli tour operators on his visit to Bulgaria during the spring 2011. This have been discussed on his meeting with the Bulgarian minister of economy, energy and tourism Traicho Traikov on the international tourist fair ITB Berlin.
Some Israeli companies have signed contracts with 35 German tour operators on ITB. As a result there is an increase of German tourists traveling to Israel.
The Bulgarian purpose is to attract a bigger amount of wealthy tourists, providing diverse SPA and wellness procedures, adventures, religious, culture, wine and other types of tourism, highlighted minister Traikov on the meeting.
One advantage for the development of the Israeli tourist market is the direct airline Sofia – Tel Aviv.
Israeli tourists are on the 13th place in the list of foreign tourists visiting Bulgaria for 2010. This shows an increase of 22,9% compared to 2009.
