Radio Focus-Varna interviewed the initiator and organizer of the international crafts and arts fair in Varna Veselina Savova
Q. Which are the highlights of the international fair this year?
A. A unique rock-opera will be presented during the fest this year. The show will be staged on August 19. The rock opera will see the participation of 10 opera singers and 12 rock singers. This is the first project in Bulgaria involving opera, rock and jazz music. The fair is mixture of styles in various spheres of culture.
The fair has expanded, which is important development for all participants. Its program includes paintings exhibition, textiles and ceramics. A total of 12 authors from various countries will participate in the fair.
I want to emphasize on one of the unusual presentations involving Persian miniature art created over leader. Participants in the fair come from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and India.
Q. What can you tell us about visitor figures?
A. The repairs taking place in central Varna and decrease visits to the fair. Despite the problems, visits remain relatively stable. The international fair of crafts and arts is situated in the central part of Varna. People, who come to the fair head specifically to the place and the majority do not come across it accidentally.
Q. What are your future ambitions concerning the fair of crafts?
A. This is the 13th edition of the fair. Despite the financial crisis, this year we have the ambition to expand our activities, which will aid us in achieving success. All participants are glad that self-taught craftsmen still show their skills in Bulgaria. Customers are also content with this presentation manner. Our aim is for various artists coming from many countries to participate in the fair each year. This will help Bulgarian authors to be as good as foreign authors.
