Poor infrastructure hinders tourism development in Bulgaria, president of International Restaurant and Hotel Association (IH&RA) Ghassan Aidi said as quoted by Monitor daily.
Aidi also commented on the qualifications of employees in Bulgaria’s tourism sector. Staff in hotels puts serious efforts in executing tasks but most employees lack the proper education, he said.
Some of the hotels in Bulgaria fail meeting categorization standards. The country should also change its visa policies, Aidi said.
Despite the financial crisis, the tourism sector is still actively evolving, Aidi said. Each day, at least 10 new hotels start operating somewhere in the world.
