According to experts, vouchers will produce a turnover of 40 billion Hungarian forints (150 million euro). The amount represents 20 percent increase compared to 2009 figures.
Hungary adopted the idea from France in an attempt to stimulate domestic tourism. Vacation vouchers were used for the first time in 1998.
The vouchers can be used in accommodation spots, restaurants, public transportation vehicles and for the purchase of sports and wellness programs.
All parties involved in the system are benefited. Companies provide their workers with inexpensive vacations, which in turn motivates employees to put more effort in their projects.
