Hotel and restaurant owners have refrained from paying taxes worth 380 000 leva to Chepelare municipality, radio Focus-Smolyan reported.
The majority of owners violate regulations and refrain from paying building and refuse taxes. Often times, owners also fail paying resort taxes.
Chepelare municipality will start inspecting each site. In case of major violations, the municipality will transfer cases to judges initiating legal procedures, Chepelare mayor Georgi Pepelanov said.
The financial crisis affected seriously tourism in Pamporovo and led to the inability of hotel owners to pay taxes, he said.
