High avalanche danger in Bulgaria’s mountain regions
from 06.03.2009 10:36       Author - Tourist Media
The danger of avalanches in Bulgaria’s mountain region is high, Focus news agency reported quoting the Mountain Rescue Service (MRS).

The warm weather and the strong wind will be the main reasons for the high danger. All resorts will be functioning on March 6 but some of the facilities might remain out of use because of the wind.

Borovets features temperature of -5 degrees Celsius, while Bansko has the positive five degrees. Aleko’s temperature this morning is -2 degrees.

The snow will be heavy because of the high temperatures, which is a condition for traumatic experiences. Fog and rain is expected in the region of Stara Planina and tourists are advised to refrain from walking there.
