Bulgaria’s winter resort Pamporovo launched officially ski season 2009/2010 with traditional Bulgarian folklore show on December 19.

Bagpipe musicians descended down the ski track as part of the ceremony.

Economy, Energy and Tourism Minister Traicho Traikov and Deputy Minister of Tourism Ivo Marinov were guests of the opening, alongside Chepelare and Smolyan mayors Georgi Popov and Dora Iankova.

Pamporovo invested nearly 13 million leva in innovations. Most of the funds were spent on the purchase of 116 artificial snow machines.
