The first regular year-round airline from Bulgaria’s Plovdiv to Moscow was officially opened on December 25.
S7 Airlines will perform the flights. The first flight from the Russian airport Domodedovo brought 68 passengers to Bulgaria, airport executive manager Doichin Angelov said.
Plovdiv Airport is expecting the arrival of 20 flights per month by March 2010. Angelov said that the airport is soon to sign an agreement for the establishment of a regular year-round airline to another European destination.
The airport is doing its best to provide conditions good enough for the establishment of regular airlines, Deputy Transportation, Information Technology and Communication Minister Kamen Kichev said.
Till the end of March are expected 20 flights an average per month from Russia with 140 passengers in every plane. Till three month Plovdiv Airport is expecting to sign agreement for second regular flight line to some European Airport, Angelov said.
