Despite the financial crisis, Scandinavian tourists still show interest in travel to Bulgaria, Swedish ambassador Paul Beijer and Dannish ambassador Kaare Janson said during a summit in Varna.
Nearly 100 000 tourist from the two came to spend a vacation in Bulgaria in 2009. Bulgaria has great prospects for the development of family tourism options, the ambassadors said. Lately, the country has started attracting wealthier tourists because of the development of golf tourism.
Denmark is responsible for another important investment in the country. It has already constructed 100 wind turbines. Their number is expected to reach 1000. Janson said that Bulgaria has the potential to construct such facilities in the sea, in the manner that Scandinavian countries do.
