Hotels in Velingrad are registering a decrease in the number of tourist visits during the weekends, radio Focus-Pazardzhik reported.
The decrease signifies that the financial crisis has affected the tourism sector in the spa resort, head of the union of hotel and restaurant owners in Velingrad Zlatko Zlatanov said.
Velingrad hotels previously had to turn booking requests down due to insufficient space. Now each hotel has rooms available, Zlatanov said.
People refrain from making short-trip plans, since they are concerned with the constant reports concerning the financial crisis. Most of them are saving money in order to take a longer vacation during the summer.
