Passenger flights of European Airlines accounted an increase of 9 percent since the beginning of 2011, compared to the same period of the last year, while the commercial flights increased with 3.2%, writes traveldailynews.com.

Trends of growth in passengers in June this year, continued in July with passenger growth of 7% compared to the same period of 2010 while freight traffic at airports in July increased by 0.3% over the same period.

The airports that reported the largest increase in passengers during July 2011 compared to the same period of the last year can be divided into four groups.

Airports of Barcelona (+21.3%), Istanbul IST (+19.4%), Amsterdam (+8.9%) and Munich (+7.4%) are in the first group.

The second group includes the airports Moscow DME (+17.9), Istanbul SAW (+17%), Helsinki (+16.9%) and Moscow SVO (+16.1%).

Airports of the third group, which also reported a large increase for this period are Venice (+40%), Kiev (+19.8%), Tenerife TFS (+18%) and Porto (+14.4%).

In the fourth group are the airports in Ohrid (+122%), Skelefti (+51.2%), Tallinn (+39.3%) and Malmo (+30.8%).

According to the passenger aircraft, in July the airport from the first group served more than 25 million people, the passengers in the second group are between 10-25 million more. In the airports of the third and fourth group are respectively passed between 5-10 million and less than 5 million passengers.
