Eco organizations in Bulgaria oppose hunting law changes
from 31.07.2008 13:27       Author - Tourist Media
Suggested changes to Bulgaria's hunting law faced the opposition of eco organizations, Darik Radio reported. The national hunting and fishing union gave its full support to the modification, opposing nature preservation organizations.

According to ecologists, the changes oppose European directives and national biological diversity regulations. Changes can harm nature and at the same time can create corruption practices.

The main modification that ecologists oppose involves prolongation of the hunting season. According to nature preservation groups, this change will harm a number of bird species.

Ecologists said that the populations of many other species have dwindled. This development could harm hunting development and could chase foreign tourists away, ecologists said.
