The Sofia regional environment and waterworks inspectorate is permitting the development of environmental evaluation of the zoning plan concerning the expansion of Vitosha’s ski zone into Vitosha nature park, expert.bg reported.
For the Nature eco organization is appealing this decision before the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC).
On July 14, Vitosha Ski Ltd, the company behind the project, has scheduled a public discussion on the eco report and the zoning plan of the new ski zone.
Nature activists oppose the expansion of the ski zone. According to plans the area of the ski zone will expand seven times and large areas of forests will be destroyed.
