The complete research of the ancient layer of Evksinograd’s fortress will take decades to be finalized, head of the Varna archaeology museum Valentin Pletniov told radio Focus-Varna.
Excavations are ongoing for a fifth consecutive year.
The team responsible for excavations is a new one but depending on very few people. Soil discharge is slowing down work significantly. Access to the region is also limited since Evksinograd acts as a residence.
